We arrived at Sea Camp around 6pm. Here is a pic of DD and a friend she made almost instantly. The part that most impressed me with this young lady was when she heard that DD was 11, she said 'oh you're only 2 years younger.' It didn't matter to her that they were 5th and 8th grade respectively. Before we left, they went to their dorm and picked their bunks and they are bunking together.
We left Sea Camp and drove back north 20 miles to where our hotel was located in Marathon. I am very pleased with the location and proximity to many fun things to do. Within a 1/2 mil, we have the beach, grocery stores, fast food Mike likes, and many plagrounds. We settled into the hotel nicely, the room is very nice. We have the bedroom, bath, living room area, and a kitchen.
Today were up before 8 and planning our day. I visited a few websites before we left to locate places we could take DS that would be interesting and fun for him. We decided we'd working on locating the beach that was supposed to be just down the road. It was easy to find and we pleased to see it had a playground also. Here is a picture of the beach and a picture of DS playing at the beach playground with his new friend 'P'.
Now we were off to a playground that online said it had a wooden replica of Thomas the Tank Engine. Well you KNOW we had to find out if it was true. DS had no idea where we were taking him (we want him to have alot of fun surprises this weekend). As we pulled up, I could see 'Thomas'. As we walked up, DS caught sight of Thomas and he got all excited and ran over to play. We had a ball at this playground, it had so many neat tunnels and slides. I really wish we had a great place like this back at home. Here are a few pictures.
After the Thomas playground, we had lunch at McD's, picked up a few necessities at Publix, and back to the hotel. Everyone had a nap, then we spent some time together before going out to get dinner. After dinner, we decided to take a walk around the hotel property and look at all the boats docked on the hotel's docks. DS found a couple that he said looked like grandma and grandpa's boat.
As many of you know, today is Tom and my 11th wedding anniversary. We are less then a month from being together for 13 years also. 13 years, 2 beautiful children, and I look forward to many more. I have to say this has been one of the best anniversaries that we've had together.
Tomorrow I turn.. ugh.. 33, my how time goes by fast. Tomorrow we also pick DD up. I look forward to hearing all about her experiences and how much fun she had. We'll come back to the hotel and then be on our way home on Monday.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend also.
