I thought I had posted a message since Friday... Nope, I didn't. Happy Tuesday everyone!
The SIP scrapbook garage sale went very well. I definitely have less then I went with and some $$ in my pocket for the Tampa Bay Treasure Hunt coming up in March (http://www.tampabayscrapbooktreasurehunt.com/). As an added bonus, I was able to spend some time with some of my good friends. After the sale, had a yummy Greek lunch with the other half of the DD's and our favorite laugh till you pee gal.
Saturday night, I took the kids to Borders to get some books. DD picked out some that I hope keep her busy for at least a little bit before we need to get her more. The big news is what DS picked out. Usually he gravitates to the $3.99 read to them books. Tonite he went towards the section that has the learn to read collections. We sat down and looked at some different ones and he had a great picked out, a Clifford the big Red Dog collection, and a very simple pre-reader easy level 10 book set. They were very easy words, repetition, with picture clues. When it was time to leave, I told him we needed to pick one and go. I thought he'd pick out the Clifford, but he picked the 10 book pre-reader set that we had been sitting with and reading. Before we left, he was able to 'read' book 1! I know it's more the repetition and memory, but just that he took the time to sit still and learn it is so great! He got into the car and read it to sissy and then read it to daddy when he got home. He read it to poppa the next day.
Sunday... DD and I went to do some shopping. At Joann's I picked up some white cardstock. Next was Best Buy, we picked up some educational software for ds and dd. Last, we went to Sports Authority so dd could get her rollerblades that she has begging for since her last ones broke a year or so ago. She has been on them as much as she can since. We came home, I made nachos and it was time to watch the Daytona 500. I have to say, what a race. Jeff had car problems and was out, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Ryan, so I was screaming and jumping around at the end. Luckily my family didn't commit me because I looked crazy I'm sure.. hehe What a great race and a great ending.
Monday was well..Monday. DD was done her schoolwork by noon so we decided to go to the movies, but that didn't quite work out the way we planned. DS fell asleep on the way there, so we went back home with a sidetrip at Target. I found the coolest thing in the dollar spot, silicone cupcake/muffin cups. I made blueberry and chocolate chip muffins this morning and then came out GREAT! No more buying paper cupcake wrappers for this mom!
So far today, dd rode her rollerblades to acting class this morning and now she's attending some online study halls with her peers. DS is on the Wii playing Lego Star Wars (big surprise, I know!). He has been playing with his educational software and I have heard 'I love this mommy, thanks' at least 2 or 3 times. Tonite dd has an anime movie nite to go to at the house of one of her TAHT friends.
